THE WHALE SHARK, OUR LATEST INSPIRATION

Large in size, with gray skin and white spots, the whale shark is considered the largest
fish in the world, capable of measuring between 12 and 20 meters long. This beautiful sea creature travels through the warm equatorial seas, and, at different times of the year, you can see specimens in different countries of which one of them is Mexico. It is even seen in seas near islands like Holbox and Isla Mujeres, where you can swim with them. In fact,

Holbox is part of the Yum Balam Natural Reserve and is home to a wide variety of species, from flamingos and pelicans to sea turtles and whale sharks.

Even though its size is impressive, the whale shark is not a danger to humans, because they are friendly beings, and you can swim with them.

Although it is called a shark, It feeds on plankton and other small species such as crabs. Their predators are larger sea creatures like the great white shark and the orca whale.

Although the whale shark is not a threat to humans, for them humans are a clear threat because of factors such as pollution of the seas, hunting and consumption of this species in some countries has caused the fish, also known as Domino is considered a species in danger of disappearing.

Although the number of specimens has increased, the situation is still worrying, since it is a species with a slow and complex reproduction process. In our hands is taking care of the environment, our consumption and other small acts that can directly help these beautiful living beings.

With our latest creation we want to raise awareness and make this animal visible; every
time If you ask us about this bag, we will not hesitate to tell its story and make it known, so that little by little we sow seeds of information and help to have an environment better for them. Made of henequen, with exquisite cross-stitch embroidery and Hand
braided handles , this new piece joins our collection of Yucatecan fauna.
